Can it be dangerous if your gun has a double feed, or will it just do nothing until cleared and reloaded?

double feeds happen, depends what type of gun your talking about. I would say it is harmless, just clear the weapon reload and continue to fire. If they keep happening check the ammo, clean the gun and if that does not help take it to a gunsmith.
